What is Christianity?

Christianity is the religion that proclaims that Jesus is the Christ, the Savior of the World, the Son of God.

The bible tells us in Matthew 1:21,
"You shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins."

Jesus' name means, God is Salvation.
God sent Jesus to make a way for us to be reconciled to God. A way for us to overcome our sin. So we could be saved from our sin.

What then is Salvation?
Salvation means we are no longer living in sin.

Jesus says in John 8:36,
"Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed."

Free from committing sin.

How is this done?

Psalm 119:9 Says,
"How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to the Word."

Jesus says in Mark chapter 4 verse 24,
"Take heed what you hear. With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given."

You might be asking how do I become a christian. Lets let the word answer that.

Acts 2:38,
"Then Peter said to them, Repent, and let everyone of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."

Faith in Jesus Christ is the way to be saved, but it is the beginning of our salvation not the completion of it.

"Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it."(Matt.7:14)

When we believe God, have faith in Jesus Christ, and obey his Word then we will receive the free gift of the Holy Spirit, and begin our life of salvation.

Eph. 2:8,
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves: It is the gift of God."

"Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you have received, and in which you stand; By which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you, unless you have believed in vain." (1 Cor. 15:1+2)

When we receive the word of God, we receive Jesus Christ, and Salvation.

May the Lord be with you, Amen.
