TO ALL WHO BELIEVE
"Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God."(Matt.4:4)
In Matthew chapter four, Jesus is tempted by the devil, Jesus' response to the temptations, are answered with the Word, quoting the old testament. Jesus knew the way to overcome the devil was with the Word of God.
In Luke 4:18 Jesus again quoting from the old testament says,
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed Me to preach
the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach
deliverance to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at
liberty those who are oppressed, to preach the acceptable year of the lord."
Adding also, "Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing."(verse 21)
Revealing more insight into the Gospel.
Jesus was living the word, fulfilling the Word, living out those things that were written in the Word.
He says, "Blessed are those who hear the Word of God and keep it!"(Luke 11:28)
This is the true Gospel.
Jesus says,
"If anyone loves me, they will keep my Word; and My Father
will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. He who
does not love Me does not keep my words; and the Word that you hear is not
Mine but the Fathers who sent Me."(John 14:23,24)
Paul says in Romans 10:6,8,
"But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, the Word is near you,
even in your mouth and in your heart.(that is, the Word of
faith which we preach)."
Also quoting from the old testament.
The Lord says to you, beware of false teaching, and if you have believed
or preached another gospel, repent and believe the true gospel, for we will
all be judged according to the Word, listen to John 12:48,
"He who rejects Me, and does not receive My Words, has that which judges
him-the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day."
And God spoke through Moses in Deuteronomy 18:18,19, saying,
"I will raise up a Prophet like you from among their brethren, and will put
My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him.
And it shall be that whoever will not hear My words, which He speaks in My
name, I will require it of him."(Also in Acts 3:23.)
This Prophet is the Savior of the world, the Son of God, Jesus Christ The Lord.
